The Midi Bag

Join us as we make this MIDI BAG which is perfect for toting just about anything!  It has a flat, square bottom so it stands upright for easy filling. Best of all, because of the way it is constructed, your corners are guaranteed to be perfect every time! Makes a wonderful gift.

During this class instructor will cover the following skills:
Sewing straight 1/4in seams, fusing, in-setting a lining, cutting to correct size using rotary cutter and ruler, top stitching, turning tubes, and creating an interior pocket.

This all day class will break for a one hour lunch. (not provided)

Students MUST provide:
• Sewing machine in good working order with a NEW needle and a FULL BOBBIN (you will be refilling it during class), and if possible, small travel iron.
• Rotary cutter, ruler, fabric scissors, pins or sewing clips (preferred), sharp snips or short scissors which will cut through multiple layers of fabric, extra sewing machine needles
• Thread color matched to selected fabrics (suggest a full spool)

Fabric Requirements (to be purchased prior to first day of class):
o  3 different coordinating ¼ yard pieces for the outside of the bag
o  3/4 yard of coordinating fabric for the inside lining, handles, and pocket

IMPORTANT!!
Prior to class, each of the ¼ yd pieces MUST be cut into 36, 2½” squares making a total of 108 squares. Bring the extra fabric with you to class.
